Byron Bay (29/6 - 1/7/2006)

Although I don't have a lot of picts from Byron, I had a great 3 days and nights at the lively little town famous for her beautiful beaches, great waves for surfing, and the ancient (in ausis standards) lighthouse. Met some nice people, and went out every night to the Rails- a local pub with excellent live performances.
In my second day there, I also went for a half day tour with Simon (Efrat's friend who lives not far away and showed me around for the day). He is the one in the 3rd picture.

Frazer Island (25-28/6/06)

Coming back on the 24th of June to Brisbane, I celebrated Efrat's birthday with her after 8 years apart! (and got to meet all of her friends).
The next day, the 3 of us (me and the famous couple) packed our bags and went on our way to Frazer Island. The first day we camped on Rainbow beach, and the day after that we started our trek- walking for 3 days. In order to get to our starting point, we took a ferry and then a taxi-jeep (which you can see on the photos), and we did the same coming back. Other than that we walked and camped and where almost completely alone, as most visitors see the island through a Jeep tour.
To our fortune, the only time we got to see Dingos (the local wild dog) were through the jeep.

Noosa

Noosa (Sunshine coast), 21-24/6/06

The morning after coming back with Efrat and her entourage, I actually stayed home resting, and made everyone dinner later on. The day after that I went by myself to Noosa, and stayed there for 3 days. Noosa has a national park just next to it, which is just next to the sea, so you can walk around and see both forest and native wild vegetation, and the sea from various point of views.
Most of my day time there I wondered about alone, which was nice most of the time, but the evening time was usually full. My first night I met Claudia at the guesthouse and we made dinner together (that is the first picture). At my second evening there I met Steve, and not by accident. Steve and his wife bought tickets to a concert, and when his wife could not go with him- he thought of returning a favour to the random traveler, for all the good things he received from locals while he was traveling. He therefore published a note in my guest house, announcing a free ticket to the first person who will call, and that was me. We ended up having a great evening with good music and good atmosphere.

By the way- The live shows in Australia where one of my main enjoyments in the continent. There is a lot going on in that field, and not just crap, but a lot of good quality music. I calculated 14 live shows seen in 28 days in Australia (all the shows seen in the dreaming festival are considered as 1 show)
